Nexa Slide · Effective 2026-10-12 · Last updated 2026-10-12

Nexa Slide (the “Software”) is a local slide-making service distributed by SosomLab (the “Company”). It runs a small web server on your own computer, opens a slide editor in your browser, and exports editable PowerPoint (PPTX) files. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Software handles, where it is stored, and what happens when you connect an AI tool of your choice.

1. Summary

  • The Software runs entirely on your computer. Its server listens only on 127.0.0.1 (your own machine) and cannot be reached from other devices on your network.
  • The Software does not call any AI (LLM) API and sends nothing to the Company. It contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking, and there is no account sign-up.
  • Your slides, drafts, requests, and exports are stored in folders you choose (Section 2). The Software stores no slide content inside its own program folder.
  • If you connect an AI tool such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or Cursor, that tool reads your files and sends them to its provider. That processing is governed by the AI provider’s own terms and privacy policy; the Company is not a party to it (Section 4).

2. Data Stored on Your Device

2-1. Workspaces

A workspace is a folder you choose (by default, NexaSlide/<title> under your operating system’s Documents folder). The Software reads and writes only inside the workspace you open:

ItemContentsLocation
SettingsPort, template, font preset, brand file, and path choicesnexa-slide.json
Content and decksYour slide text, speaker notes, images, and deck datacontent/, decks/<deck>.json, and asset folders you add
Edit requestsNotes you leave in the editor asking for changes, with their statusdecks/<deck>.requests.json
Automatic backupsA copy of the deck taken before each save — the most recent 50 per deckdecks/.history/
Exports and previewsPPTX files and rendered imagesout/
Session statusServer state, request-watcher heartbeat, and (if the Claude Code hook is enabled) the session’s activity state with the first line of your latest prompt, truncated to 80 charactersout/.studio/
AI tool guidanceInstructions for AI tools (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md), a launcher (nexa.py), and a Claude Code hook setting (.claude/settings.json) created for new workspacesWorkspace root

New workspaces receive a .gitignore that excludes out/ and decks/.history/. If you put a workspace under version control or in a synced folder (such as a Git hosting service or cloud drive), its contents are handled by that service under its own policies.

2-2. User settings

Outside workspaces, the Software keeps one settings file, settings.json, in %APPDATA%\nexa-slide (Windows), ~/Library/Application Support/nexa-slide (macOS), or $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/nexa-slide (Linux, normally ~/.config/nexa-slide). It contains your base folder, the start-page port, a list of recently opened workspaces (path, title, and time opened), and any sample sites you register (name, URL, and note).

You can delete any of these files or folders at any time. Deleting a workspace removes its decks and backups permanently; the Software keeps no copy elsewhere.

3. Network Activity

  • The local server binds to 127.0.0.1 only. Your browser talks to it on your own computer; it is not exposed to the network. Its fonts, scripts, and styles are served locally — the editor loads nothing from external CDNs.
  • The Software makes no outbound connections of its own while you create, edit, and export slides.
  • Optional helper commands you run yourself may download from the Internet: installing Python packages (pip install -r requirements.txt from PyPI), the Windows font installer (install_fonts.ps1, which downloads open-source fonts from their GitHub release pages), and diagram rendering (render_mermaid.py, which runs @mermaid-js/mermaid-cli via npx and downloads it from the npm registry on first use). These services may log ordinary request information (such as your IP address) under their own policies.
  • Sample sites you register on the start page are opened in your browser only when you click them.
  • On Windows, the optional PowerPoint preview (render_pptx.ps1) drives your locally installed Microsoft PowerPoint; it does not upload anything.

4. AI Tools You Connect

The Software is designed to work alongside an AI coding tool that you install and run yourself — for example Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or Cursor. In that arrangement:

  1. The Software itself does not contact the AI provider. The AI tool reads your workspace files (content, decks, edit requests, guidance files) and writes changes back, at your direction.
  2. Whatever the AI tool reads may be sent to its provider (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or Anysphere) for processing. That processing is governed by the terms of service and privacy policy of the AI tool and its provider, including how long data is retained and whether it may be used for model training. The Company is not a party to that relationship and has no access to that data.
  3. Before connecting an AI tool, review its settings and policies, and do not place in a workspace any personal, confidential, or third-party information that you are not permitted to send to that provider.

5. Third-Party Services

Apart from the optional downloads in Section 3 and the AI tools in Section 4, both of which you choose to use, the Software uses no third-party services. The Software is obtained from the Company’s source repository on GitHub, whose operator may log access under its own policies.

6. Children

The Software is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

7. Your Rights

Because the Company holds no personal data about you, there is nothing on the Company’s side to access, correct, or delete. All data described in Section 2 stays on your device under your control. For data processed by an AI tool you connected, exercise your rights with that tool’s provider. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address below.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, the revised text and its effective date will be posted on this page. Material changes — in particular any addition of network communication by the Software itself or of data sent to the Company — will be announced at least 7 days before they take effect.
